In my second year of study at Norwich University of the Arts I am exploring clothing as a subject; the complex relationship between clothes and the wearer. Clothing closely identifies with the body of the absent wearer and acts as a catalyst for memory, which manifests through the physical materials I use, transparent materials, clothing and layers; the irony of working with material things is that the underlying agenda is with things that are immaterial such as memory and absence.
Using reclaimed garments, memories and stories are recalled, imagined and retrieved; witness to the ever evolving personal stories we possess and carry around with us.
